SF duo plays Dtwn Silver Spring 4/23/08

Sarah Fridrich Duo, with Special Guests: The Able Birds

Wednesday, April 23rd
9pm-midnight
*no cover*

Austin Grill
919 Ellsworth Drive
Silver Spring, MD 20901

Thats right! Downtown Silver Spring hosts live music - Austin Grill is the place! A restaurant themed after a town of songwriter fame - Austin, TX - its not the SXSW music conference, but there's still great eats (fresh chips and homemade salsa served at every table), margaritas, and, of course, great *original* live music. The focus will be on good songs and creative instrumentation (check out The Able Birds' opening set - they will put us to shame as they prove that no band is cool who doesn't switch instruments mid-set. Yes! The violin player also plays drums!!)

FREE all day LIVE MUSIC FESTIVAL 4/19/08

Saturday, April 19, 5:45pm
I'll be doing a short acoustic set at the Crazy Quilt Music Festival in downtown Old Greenbelt, Maryland. Joining me on the indoor stage is baltimore's bass babe Sarah Carlisle.

the festival:
Lots of bands, all day, all FREE!
www.crazyquiltfestival.com

the town:

Old Greenbelt was settled in 1937 as a public cooperative community (one of many public works projects referred to by Woody Guthrie as "an experiment in American socialism"[1]) in the New Deal Era. (quote from wikipedia)

"roses" and "soul" in April Song Contest, be a judge

I've entered my songs "Soul of The Earth" and "Roses on the Ocean" into an online music contest for the month of April.

Check it out:
Fans can sign-up to judge at OurStage.

About Voting
Though you CAN'T go vote a million times for me (a good thing), you CAN judge in a category or channel. I entered my music in the "singer-songwriter" category.

Judging Interface
The judging processes is a blind/random comparing module. 2 different songs pop up and you click on the one you like better, then 2 more songs pop up randomly. You can keep going for as long as your ears can take it.

So far, I've found no strings attached. It claims to be a grassroots thingy.
